An experience letter is handed over to employees when their offboarding from their current employer. It basically contains the position held by the employee in the organization along with the duration (Start date till end date), conduct or behavior of employee, experience, and skills achieved by the employee, date of resignation submission with issuing date of the letter.

An experience letter is generally issued by the HR department of the organization as proof of experience and skillsets to employee that is further required by other organisations to designate the person their roles and responsibilities. It increases the chances of get selected , getting better offer and having greater opportunities. 

Importance of Experience Letter

It can either be used as a cover letter or as an email attachment to an interview application.The importance of an experience letter is to provide an overview of your pertinent skills, education and work experience in a succinct form that can captivate attention of potential employers. In this way you can help potential employers understand the benefits of hiring candidate for future positions. 

The letter is a professional introduction to organisations who has never met the person open to work in that company. It should give the reader or employer an accurate idea of what it's like to work with particular candidate and why they should consider candidate for the job or position they are hiring for. The letter should not be too long, but always be concise.

Experience Letters are an essential way to give insight into the character of a person. They can be used for both personal and professional purposes. For example, a career hunter may use one to show an employer that they have the qualifications they're looking for while an individual may send it out to their network when they're on the job hunt.
